Despite its simple design, the Evangelical Church in the town center is one of the medieval buildings here on land; the massive west tower dates from the 13th century.
The Order of St. John added a new nave in early Gothic style around 1300 after the dilapidated old chapel had broken down.
When the Reformation around Marienhagen entered, the room layout was changed. A carved bar gives the year 1630.
