The pretty, old salt town of Lüneburg is always worth a visit. There are many highlights and many beautiful old houses to see there, especially in the old town, as well as on the Sande or in the Lüneburg water district from the Ilmenau (Stintmarkt, Alter Kran and much more).

I added some photos to this highlight. There are two natural viewpoints in Lüneburg. The Kalkberg, where the castle used to be. The best view is in winter, when the trees clear the view. Furthermore, the one on the Kreideberg: Here you have a wonderful view over the small lake to the city.
Lüneburg has different quarters with their own character. The Bardowick Wall, the spa gardens and many small parks are also worthwhile.
