The Lindenbauernkapelle is a sacred gem in the Mondseeland high above the Irrsee. Due to the view, the chapel is a special place of luck.

The Lindenbauernkapelle was built between 1820-1830 in Lindau in Zell am Moos and named after the Lindenbauer next to it. Today it is owned by the municipality of Zell am Moos. However, the Lindenbauer still cares lovingly for this little chapel today.

The linden tree was considered by the Teutons to be a sacred tree, and according to their belief, those were inhabited by good spirits, who bring consolation and help to those who pass by.

In 1885 the Hauskapelle des Lindenbauer was hit by a house fire. However, it was rebuilt from the residual stones of the new building.
