The mill De Hoop is a replacement for the old mill De Hoop, which was lost by fire in 1969. The rebuilt mill is located on the other side of the harbor of Harderwijk.

The De Hoop windmill is located at Havendijk 9 in Harderwijk. The tower mill was built to replace an earlier mill from 1911 on the Strandboulevard, which burned out in 1969. Although the plan to rebuild at a different location came quickly, rebuilding took a long time due to various circumstances. The hull of the Molen van Reerink in Oldenzaal was used for the new mill De Hoop. This was purchased in 1993 by the Harderwijker Molenstichting. The mill was rebuilt by the company Vaags from Aalten. De Hoop was commissioned in 1998 and opened to the public in 1999.

The mill also houses the exhibition "Hulsink 150 years Harderwijk"

May, June and September: Wednesdays and Saturdays from 12:00 to 17:00
July/Aug Wednesdays to Saturdays from 12:00-17:00
October to April Saturdays from 12:00-17:00
