Gom Kora is also known as Gomphu Kora. Gomphu means "meditation cave" and Kora means "circumambulation." The cave is located about 24 km from Trashigang on the road to Trashiyangtse. Guru Rinpoche meditated here to subdue a demon that resided in the large rock. The temple is famous for its festival in the second lunar month. The central figure in the temple is Guru Rinpoche. To his right is Chenresig in his thousand-armed form. On the far right is the serpent demon Gangan Yonga Choephel, holding a golden mirror in his right hand. The murals on the far right are believed to date from the 15th century.
