In addition to the Northern Local Transport Tangent, the i2030 subproject "S-Bahn Network Bottleneck Elimination" plans approximately 35 additional measures. These include, for example, the creation of additional shoring and maintenance capacity, the expansion of the energy supply, and the extension of 10-minute intervals on the outer branches of the S-Bahn network. A view from the Margaretenbrücke is worthwhile; the subgrade prepared during the GDR era can still be seen to the east of the two long-distance railway tracks. Furthermore, the bridge piers are already sufficiently far apart, allowing the two additional tracks of the S-Bahn extension to pass under the existing bridge.
