The Spīķeru radošais kvartāls in Riga is a fascinating example of how historic industrial buildings can be transformed into vibrant, creative places. Originally built in the 19th century as warehouses along the Daugava, the quarter was used to store goods that were transported across the rivers. The brick buildings, which are more than 150 years old, were designed by the best Baltic architects of their time and are now part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
