    A really good place to take a break. The service was very friendly and the coffee and cake were delicious. The former school building has a pleasant atmosphere, the colorfully mixed furnishings are very nicely arranged. I felt very comfortable.
    The mini pig has the noble name Sir Winston.

    The former school building from 1923 could tell a lot. It even survived being transported to this location. The old school building was restored and in 2009 became the Matahiwi Gallery Café, managed by the local tribe.
    The stars of the 2005 film "River Queen" include the Te Awa Tupua/Whanganui River, the dense forest at the upper reaches of the river and the replica of a steamship that can be found here.
