    BUXTEHUDE COMMUNITY CENTER:
    Until the early 1930s, the front building had only one upper floor. Before World War II, a second floor with a hipped roof was added, giving the building its present appearance. The three-story courtyard facade of the central building, with its beautiful ornate carvings, still retains a well-maintained half-timbered structure. Above the ground floor is the aforementioned inscription indicating the builder and the construction period.

    Over the course of its almost 500-year history, the community center has changed hands several times. Most of them used it as a pub. This is likely the reason for its continued preservation. Today, it is used as a restaurant, office space, and residential building.

      A bourgeois residential building on the market square. Built in 1548 by the respected mayor Dr. M. Moller, it features a solidly built ground floor and a Gothic portal in the Lüneburg style. The converted cellars are a unique feature in the marshy underground of the old town.

      The bourgeois house at Lange Straße 25 has undergone numerous renovations, but the impressive pointed-arch portal has never been altered. The portal's multi-tiered jambs – richly decorated with rope and pear rods – reflect the enormous economic boom, which was primarily due to the Hanseatic League. A second story was added shortly before World War II.
