The stream valley is about 3.5 kilometers long and bends east in the north. It stretches from Winselerhof in the south to Eygelshoven in the northeast. In Eygelshoven, the Strijthagerbeek valley flows into the Anstel valley. To the south, the valley is bordered by the Spekholzerheide plateau. To the east and west of the valley lies a low ridge, the Schaesberg plateau, which merges into the Nieuwenhagen plateau in the north and forms the northern valley boundary. The valley is bordered by several districts: Schaesberg and Eikske to the west, Terwinselen to the south, and the Dentgenbach industrial estate to the east.
