Probably the most interesting building is the Waither plague chapel, which dates from the time of the Thirty Years' War. Presumably Spanish soldiers brought the plague to Bavaria during the war around 1633/1634. The small chapel has been renovated in painstaking detail over the past few years. Outwardly it is an inconspicuous building. The west side facing the weather is clad with shingles to protect against the forces of nature and has no windows. A steel bell hangs under the sheet-roofed top of the chapel. The entrance door of the chapel has ornamental carvings.
