This mill was built after the burning down of a (much smaller) predecessor. The last mill dated from 1794.
Traditionally the mill had two mortars; since 1926, one of them could also be driven by an electric motor. Due to land consolidation, the mill became redundant and became more or less 'dry'.
For this reason it was decided to relocate: in 1984 the mill was dismantled and moved to its current location on Termunterzijldiep. The Dellen is now located next to the "Tichelwaark" pumping station and can be used in an emergency. The Tichelwaark polder is 260 hectares in size (ZP ± -2.50 NAP). Relocation and restoration were carried out by the Molema company from Heiligerlee.

Both auger wheels are made of cast iron, equipped with eight spokes in which 38 conical combs. The now antique 50 hp Heemaf electric motor from 1926 remained in the mill after the move, albeit out of use and installed separately.
The self-yielding valves have been made of aluminum since 2000. Striking are the transverse flaps at all ends, which have been restored almost everywhere, but are still present here. In 1958, 35 Groningen mills still had such valves; now only two!

Some other notable details: the catch beam does not rotate with a pin through the front easel, but is attached to the bottom of that easel with a metal hinge. This construction also occurs on the other polder mill in Scheemda and on 'De Rat' in IJlst (the latter is not coincidental, because its roof comes from the demolished polder mill of Scheemderzwaag!).
The neck bearing is made of cast iron, with a layer of babbits applied to the track.
At its old location in 't Waar, the mill was a so-called gauge mill. Such a mill reported during the day using the blade position and at night through a lantern in the blade top, when further grinding through the polders is prohibited due to a very high drainage level. Here, despite the presence of a wicker cross, there was a high mast next to the miller's house with a 1000 Watt lamp on top.
The Mill Foundation Central and East Groningen wants to reconstruct such a level mast at this mill (and is looking for the resources to do so).
