The history of the properties of the Vena d’Oro water with its source dates back to the times of the ancient Romans.
As early as 1400 there is traces of a hermitage of friars who knew the healing properties of water from the local source which, defined as health, was used to heal people.
After the area had been used as a wheat mill at the end of the eighteenth century, the great idea of the Lucchetti family from Treviso arrived in the mid-nineteenth century: to create a large hydrotherapy center. In 1869 the first center of the Veneto was opened that would win the favor of the nobility of all Europe, who came to Belluno for long summer stays.
In the early 1900s the hotel was closed and everything became the property of Sade and then of Enel. The Vena d’Oro is thus used as a summer camp for the children of employees.
From the 1930s to the 1980s, the mineral water of the Vena d’Oro created its own niche in the table mineral water market.
