Neuenhagen Castle was built in 1560 by the von Uchtenhagen noble family. In terms of architectural history, it represents a so-called "solid house", a transitional form that appeared in the 16th century between a medieval noble castle and the castle-like manor house that was later common. The owners had changes made to suit the taste of the time, some of which have been preserved. Theodor Fontane wrote about this in 1867: “Neuenhagen Castle on the other side of the Oder is relatively well preserved to this day. It is inhabited and offers, we have no doubt, a better stay than some modern construction.”
Private, company and municipal institutions have used the building over the past decades. Today the hotel "Kultur B&B Schloss Neuenhagen" is located here with the organization of weddings, celebrations and team events.
For all guests interested in the castle, the house opens its doors on Saturday and Sunday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on the second and fourth weekend of the month.
