The Halterhof lies at approx. 500 m above sea level. below the moss head (873m).

It is one of the most remote farms in the Durbach Valley and about 7 km from the center. For centuries the remoteness of the courtyard required almost complete self-sufficiency and well-planned storage.
The structural change in the past decades has changed the farm forever. While grain, beets and potatoes were previously cultivated, sustainable forestry with Christmas tree crops is now practiced. Fruit growing with a noble distillery today contribute to the operating income in addition to the rental of holiday apartments. The "witty" mountain brandies can be purchased in a neat parlor and, of course, also tried.
To this day, working on the steep slopes (heaps) is very difficult. The use of machines is only possible to a very limited extent. A large vegetable garden and various animals make a holiday on the Halterhof in the middle of a wonderful hiking area around the moss an experience.
On this farm you live - in and with - nature, whether family, relatives, friends or holiday guests. Whoever loves nature is right here.
Timeline:

In 1768 the farm was first mentioned under the family name Bürg (Bürck).
Georg Halter acquired the farm in 1846 and has been family-owned ever since
today's residential buildings were built in 1906 and 2012 respectively
from 1935 the farm had electricity from a small power plant, which was later replaced by connection to the municipality's power grid
In 1954 the connection to the valley was improved with a car
In 1963, work on the farm was made easier with a tractor and a telephone was also obtained
1978 targing the yard access and the accessibility thus further improved
from 1997 the farm is run as a sideline
the farm has been connected to the internet since 2000
