The fruit tree avenue on Weierbach in Alt-Marl has become a fruit tree museum in 2010. By 2014, a total of 102 fruit trees had been planted on a former nettle meadow.
Many Marler citizens as sponsors have donated the fruit trees. Mainly old varieties that are no longer on the market were used. Initially, the only plan was to create a beautiful, inviting avenue in the shadow of the Weierbach, in the shadow of which people like to stay. The idea of a fruit tree avenue quickly developed into the concept of a fruit tree museum.
With the last tree planting in 2014, the capacity of the area was exhausted, there is no more space for more trees. The facility is particularly worth seeing in spring at the time of fruit blossom.
