The most important development goals are to further promote the development of swamp and floodplain forests by converting hybrid poplar stands, as well as further extensification of mesophilic grassland areas. The biotope is of outstanding importance for the biotope network as a particularly structurally rich section of the Niers lowlands in the predominantly intensively agricultural environment."
