Salisbury Cathedral is one of the most magnificent churches in the UK, if not the world. Built between 1220 and 1258, the cathedral's intricate main body took a whopping 38 years to complete.

Standing at 404 feet-tall (123 metres), its spire is the highest in the UK. You can also visit the finest surviving original copies of the Magna Carta and one of the world's oldest clocks.

The cathedral is open daily from 9am - 5pm except on Sundays when first entrance is 12pm. You can find more info here: salisburycathedral.org.uk

"The story of this great Cathedral is a tale of defiance and ingenuity that begins back in 1218, when the Bishop of Salisbury abandoned the original cathedral at Old Sarum, and moved down to the banks of the Avon, where the Cathedral stands today.
