      The municipality of Bosau is located on the eastern shore of the Great Plön Lake and was recognized as a climatic health resort in 1987. Like Malente, Eutin and Plön, Bosau with its 15 villages is part of the Holstein Switzerland Nature Park and is connected to the regional network of cycle and hiking trails.
