The views from Pordenack Point, the first major headland South of Land's End, are spectacular. To the North you can see the wonderful natural arch of Enys Dodnan.
This area is a coastal Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) due to its biodiversity, in particular bird passage migrants and maritime vegetation.

There are places you can hardly get around on a Cornwall vacation - even if you know that the place itself is no longer extraordinary. Land’s End is such a place. You don't get to Land’s End because the cliffs here are particularly dramatic and breathtaking, or because the green hilly landscape in the hinterland is particularly idyllic. You also don't come here because you expect the best entertainment from the visitor center. Land’s End is a symbolic place: the western end of mainland Britain.
There is something in the name that sounds like wanderlust. It is a turning point (for example on a Cornwall round trip), a waypoint, a starting point or an ending point. Anyone departing the south coast of England will have an eye on Land’s End from the moment they leave the ferry in Dover and head for it. If you take a round trip through Cornwall, you will reach the mountain festival here and turn north. If you want to walk along the South West Coast Path, take Land’s End as your starting or ending point.
