The Georgengarten is a beautiful and large park that adjoins the Herrenhausen Gardens on the eastern side. The Leibniz Temple and Herrenhäuser Allee as well as the German Museum for Caricature and Drawing are well worth seeing. There are beautiful paths for hiking or cycling and extensive meadow areas.

The Georgengarten is located northwest of the city center and is part of the Herrenhausen Gardens. This park is bordered on the west by the Great Garden. Northeast is the Welfengarten and the main building of the university as well as other university institutes. Allotment gardens and sports facilities border it on the south side. A little further south, behind the Bremer Damm, is the green strip along the banks of the Leine and Ihme, which runs through the western part of the city. The south-east corner of the Georgengarten borders on the Könisworther Platz and is therefore relatively close to the city centre.
