Syri i Kaltër (Eng. Blue Eye) is a karst spring on the western slope of the Mali i Gjerë Mountains in Albania. With 6 m³/s it is the most water-rich spring in the country. The water emerges under high pressure from a spring pot, the exact depth of which has not yet been explored. The temperature is 12.75 °C with a maximum deviation of just 0.15 °C. Against the background of light limestone, the water has a deep blue color in the sunlight, which also gives it its name. The water from Syri i Kaltër flows into the Bistrica, which is dammed just after the source for energy production.

From Saranda it is only about 30 minutes by car to the Syri I Kaltër lake. The Syri I Kaltër is a popular destination, especially in summer on weekends. Anyone who wants to experience the shimmering blue mountain lake without a large crowd of visitors should plan a visit during the week. There is a cozy restaurant on site (fish).
