All Saints Church in Fifehead Neville, Dorset, is a charming, small parish church with a long and complex architectural history, holding a Grade II* listed status.

    History and Architecture
The church's origins date back to the 14th century, with the south wall and chancel arch being the oldest surviving parts. Key periods of construction and alteration include:
14th Century: The earliest parts, including the south wall of the nave and the chancel arch. The Purbeck stone font on a greensand base also dates from this century.
Around 1500: The north aisle and arcade were added.
1736: Significant remodelling took place, during which the old tower was demolished, a south porch was added, and large round-headed windows were placed in the south wall, giving it a distinctive 18th-century appearance. The plain oak pulpit also dates from this period.

1873/1895: The church underwent major restoration in 1873, and the chancel was entirely rebuilt around this time. The church is noted for its richly decorated roofs from the 15th century that were restored in 1895.
The church is relatively small, barely 50ft long outside. It features a nave with a north aisle, chancel, and a south porch, topped by an ashlar bellcot on the west gable instead of a full tower.
Interior Details: The interior includes a three-bay nave arcade with 2-centred arches and piers featuring half-columns with capitals decorated with fleurons. There are also memorials to the Ryves and Salkeld families.
Font: A 14th-century octagonal font made of Purbeck stone.
Churchyard: The churchyard contains a large, iron-fenced, ivy-clad mausoleum belonging to the Brune family, with inscriptions dating from 1707 to 1760. This mausoleum is described as one of the largest table tombs in Dorset.
Lych-gate: The church is sheltered by an old, twisted yew tree which forms an umbrella over the lych-gate.

All Saints Church remains an active parish church within the Benefice of Hazelbury Bryan and The Hillside Parishes.
