The Frauenluckensteig is a very original and charming Via Ferrata in the central part of Hohe Wand. The highlight of the climb is the bold iron ladder through the so-called Frauenlucke, a 15 m high, vertical cave shaft.
The steep entry wall (blue arrow) is overcome with the help of iron clamps and braces (B). Then follow a crossing (A) to the left for entry into the cave shaft. There is also the climbing book. A vertical, approximately 15 m high iron ladder (B) now leads through the shaft to the exit hole (B).

From the sundial parking lot, follow the climbing lanes over the meadow to the Wandfußsteig. From there over the green marked Völlerin up to a striking slip-through. Shortly thereafter a trail branches off to the left, which soon leads to the entrance of the Frauenluckensteig.

Contrary to all articles in many forums where this climb is described as suitable for children, I advise against it. And if someone absolutely wants to conquer this with their children, then only with security !! A safety rope should be carried for children.
Conclusion: The Frauenluckensteig is a spectacular, psychologically demanding, but also short thing, embedded in the wonderful woman. Very eventful. A good opportunity to practice securing with a rope again.
