Near the summit of the Teufelstein (1498 m) stands the rock of the same name, a legendary cult site. The Teufelstein itself consists of three large, stacked blocks of rock, which are around six meters high. According to legend, the fallen angel Lucifer wanted to build a tower here, which should rise up to the sky in order to get back to heaven.

From a geological point of view, the rocks are the result of weathering, in which hard rocks persist longer than their surroundings.

I came from the Weinviertel to see the Teufelstein. The relatively long journey time was worth it anyway! Have planned on Komoot a great round to this highlight and this round was a really great hike. It may also be noted that there is also a summit cross on top of the hill near Teufelstein. The summit book also contains the story of the Teufelstein. Incidentally, it should also be noted that there is also a dump (which would be almost a highlight in itself) at the Teufelstein.
