In 1986, the plans to build a shelter on the Wirtsberg were implemented.
The construction is made almost entirely of wood and is intended to be reminiscent of a charcoal kiln that was operated near the Wirtsberg. The construction was built by the craftsmen of the open-air museum and a nearby LPG.

But in fact the octagonal tower is more reminiscent of a lemon squeezer. The 9 m high tower offers a fantastic view on two floors. The information boards make orientation easier.

Right next to the tower is a triangulation column from 1876.

The Wirtsberg with its special kind of vantage point offers a wonderful view and farsightedness of the entire German and Czech area.
