Lake Rotter See is a popular destination for recreation seekers from all over the region. It is a very popular destination and offers paths for cycling and strolling, a beach for swimmers to sunbathe and splash around, and even a barbecue area.
Large areas of the former gravel pit have developed into a true nature refuge. Numerous waterfowl and other animals can be observed here. There is also a pleasing fish population. The water quality is regularly checked throughout the season by the Rhein-Sieg District Health Department.
There is an urgent appeal to keep Lake Rotter See and its shores clean, not to feed waterfowl, and to allow dog toilets to be used. Spatial boundaries have also been established: the southern peninsula is the club grounds of the Sieglar Fishing Club. The island in Lake Rotter See is reserved for flora and fauna.
Camping, horseback riding, boating, vendors, and open fires are prohibited (except at the barbecue area).
Dogs must be kept on a leash and are not allowed on the lawn of the bathing bay during the summer months.
