Museum tramway Mariazell - Erlaufsee
The route between Mariazell and Erlaufsee is not an abandoned railway line that has been reactivated for museum operations. It was completely rebuilt between 1976 and 2015 and even the tracks were built by the activists of the museum tramway as a voluntary effort. The building elements used are intended to reflect the history of the technology of Austrian street and local railway companies. In recognition of these achievements, the Austrian Railway Culture Prize was awarded in 2018 by the ÖMT Association of Austrian Museum and Tourist Railways.

The steam train only runs on weekends between Erlaufsee and Mariazell. The services are seasonal, usually from mid-May to the end of October, on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
