Since October 2, 2019, the new cycle path along the Hanover-Bremen railway line has connected the city of Verden with the village of Wahnebergen in the municipality of Dörverden. Access from Verden is via Im Burgfeld Street and leads over the Aller Bridge to the old railway embankment and the Wätern Bridge, and from there over the dike to the dike defense path to Wahnebergen.
