A small Tibetan Buddhist monastery beautifully located on Huxin Island in Basom Lake.
It was built around 1400 and practices in the Nyingma tradition. The monastery is now a home to a few nuns.
The temple is centered around Guru Rimpoché. The statue, along with others, have been destroyed during the Cultural Revolution, and have recently been restored.

From the entrance of the Basomtso Scenic Area the shuttle bus stops here.

Note: (as of June 2024) to visit this part of Tibet, apart from the Tibet Travel Permit required prior to departure to Tibet, a special Alien’s Travel Permit is required that can only be obtained after arrival in Tibet.
