The Farchau farm with the former paper mill from 1661, the renovated horse stable from 1928, the flat glass-roofed outbuilding in the garden and the rebuilt boathouse on the banks of the Küchensee is privately owned.

"The mill wheel is a so-called 'Dutch wheel' that was reconstructed based on a postcard from around 1900. And by a company from Thuringia that specializes in this." The reconstruction in the old sense is actually practical: A turbine inside the mill generates enough electricity to supply hot water to the entire main building.

The listed building itself was bought in 2012 and "has since been extensively renovated in close cooperation with the authorities (monument and nature conservation, water)". The restoration was very successful.
