      The Fürwiggetalsperre is one of the four dams that were built by industry around the turn of the century to store the energy for the water-powered machines in the Versetal's factories. It was inaugurated in 1904. The dam of the Fürwiggetalsperre with valve towers, valve houses and basin was registered as a monument in 2004 and was built in 1902 and 1904 according to a design by the well-known professor for Hydraulic engineering and construction by Otto Intze.
