The Goethe Rock is one of many rocks in the Ilmkreis. Due to the many paths (above and below) this is especially worth seeing!

If you have liked it, I recommend the Piuttifelsen nearby, Schwalben- or Hermannstein near Manebach and the Burnt Out Stein as well as the Hans-Kehrstein near Gehlberg!

J.W. Goethe was quite often in Geraberg and regularly withdrew to the Körnbachtal to linger on that very rock. Some of his most beautiful poems were written here.

Behind the rock there is a small trail that takes you to the rock.

On the opposite side of the rock, a small spring springs directly out of the rock 🍶

The Goethe Rock is part of the Geraberg Climate Trail.
