    Hell's Gate is Rotorua's most active geothermal reserve and New Zealand's only mud spa complex.
    Hell's Gate is the only place in New Zealand where you can relax in an outdoor mud bath, used by Māori for generations to relieve joint and muscle pain. Cozy up with a mud bath or relax in a sulfur bath overlooking a spectacular geothermal landscape before cooling off in a beautiful spring-fed waterfall and cold plunge pool.       Hell's Gate also features the largest mud volcano in the country as well as the largest hot waterfall in the Southern Hemisphere. Before your spa experience, take a guided or unguided tour of 50 acres of erupting water, colorful pools, hot-water lakes, bubbling mud, steaming cliffs, sulfur crystals and land corals. You can also take a walk through the native bush surrounding the thermal park.
