Dry feet pedestrians can now reach from the Hohen Neuendorfer Wiesenstraße to the bridge over the Briese and on to the S-Bahn station Birkenwerder. 267 votes had received this most popular proposal in the PB 2017. Mayor Steffen Apelt officially released the 85-meter path on Thursday - along with a representative of the Endrikat family who had submitted the proposal. The construction costs amounted to 35,000 euros, more than a third of the total budget for participatory budgeting.
Due to the changeover to a two-year procedure in the participatory budget, according to which the winning proposals will only be implemented within the regular budget in the following year, the path in the form of a pier system could now be realized within a few days. The construction work was taken over by the Hohe Neuendorfer company gardening, landscaping and sports field construction by Thomas Vogel.
