The water tower sits enthroned on the highest dune in Juist at 22 meters. With its height of 13 meters, it towers over all buildings on the island. It is considered the landmark of Juist. When you enter the port of Juist, the water tower with the Strandhotel Kurhaus Juist is the most striking and best visible structure. It was built in 1927/28. He still carries the 250 m³ storage basin today, which is still essential for the water supply to our island. The water tower is particularly important during the summer months with its high consumption times. The water tower is affectionately called "Doornkaatbuddel" by the Juisters because it looked similar to the bottle of the then famous brand of schnapps. Unfortunately, you cannot climb the water tower to admire the view. But you have a wonderful view of the place and the Wadden Sea from the viewing dune at the house of the spa guest, approx. 10 meters from the water tower.
