Kallaste (Russian: Красные Горы Krasnyje Gory) is a town in northeastern Tartu County, Estonia, on the western shore of Lake Peipsi. At the beginning of 2006 Kallaste had 1152 inhabitants, most of them Russian native speakers. The city's Russian name derives from the red sandstone coast that drops steeply to Lake Peipus. Until 2017 Kallaste was an independent urban municipality, since then it has been part of the rural municipality of Peipsiääre.

Kallaste arose in the 18th century as a settlement of Russian Old Believers. Kallaste received city rights in 1938. The last public statue of Lenin in Estonia was erected in Kallaste in 1988 (Wikipedia).
