In this famous wine region (grand cru Hengst) there are remains of fortifications (1275), some old houses (Rue des Laboureurs), the beautiful Fontaine de la Vierge (18th century) and the old castle of the Knights of St John of Thurnberg, now the town hall. On the hill a ruin of a Gallo-Roman villa (1st-4th century).

Housed in the former Château de Thurnburg, the Hôtel de Ville de Wintzenheim is a historic building dating back to the 16th century and has served as the town hall since 1853. Originally owned by the Knights Hospitaller of Colmar, the building reflects the rich history of the region, with stained glass windows in the council chamber showing the coats of arms of successive owners.

The municipal area, which is part of the Ballons des Vosges Regional Nature Park, extends from the Upper Rhine Plain across the Fecht Valley (also called the Münster Valley) to the heights of the Vosges south of the Fecht, which reach a maximum altitude of 827 meters above sea level.
