he Isenach-Weiher is located in the north-eastern Palatinate Forest 200 m north of the B 37 (Bad Dürkheim-Kaiserslautern and belongs to the forest area of the district town, the actual area of which is about 10 km away.

In a narrow side valley, the Isenach was dammed about 5 km after its source in 1736/37 in order to ensure that the river flowed evenly. This was necessary because the pumps of the Bad Dürkheim graduation house were operated with water power until 1850, which was obtained from the Isenach.

The 17,850 square meter and a maximum of 8 m deep Isenachweiher is transparent to the ground, as only a few aquatic plants can thrive on the steeply sloping bank, which is shaded by tall trees. Despite the poor aquatic flora, there is a considerable variety of fish - crabs, frogs, newts and aquatic insects can also be observed.

These include the rare dipper, which is on the red list in Germany.

On the southwest bank of the Isenachweiher is the former caretaker's house, a large log house made of wood - today the excursion restaurant Blockhaus zur Isenach.

Rowing boats can also be rented here for various excursions on the lake, with which the lake can be explored very well.
