Wuhou Shrine is enlisted in the First Batch of Major Historical and Cultural Site Protected at the National Level, a national AAAA level tourism attraction, a National Top-class Museum, and a National Research Center of Three Kingdom Period Culture. It locates on No. 231 Wuhouci Street, Wuhou District of Chengdu, is the first joint worship temple of the emperor and his minister, and the most famous memorial place of Zhuge Liang, Liu Bei and all the heroes of Shu Han Dynasty. It's named after Zhuge Liang who was appointed Marquis Wu. Being built in 223AD while constructing the mausoleum of Liu Bei, it was originally the Hui mausoleum of Liu Bei, whose temple was called "Han Zhaolie Temple". Wuhou Shrine has been a famous relic in Chengdu since the Tang Dynasty, Du Fu wrote in his poem "Minister of Shu" that: "Where is the shrine of the minister, it's among the cypress forest outside of the Jinguan City." Being a paragon of loyalty, intelligence and unselfish devotion to the people and the country, Zhuge Liang has been admired and respected by people for thousands of years. So, among the people, it's called Wuhou Shrine instead of Han Zhaolie Temple.
