    The Porto Vecchio, or "Old Port," of Desenzano del Garda is located in the center of town and was first mentioned in 1274. In the past, goods for the market were unloaded from barges here. Today, only small boats remain in the cozy harbor, which is considered a major landmark of the town.

    Particularly worth seeing are the ancient arcade surrounding Piazza Malvezzi, right next to the harbor, and the monument to Angela Merici, the founder of the Order of Saint Ursula, located in the center.

    From the Porto Vecchio, you have a beautiful view of the remains of a medieval castle. The Villa Romana is about a five-minute walk away.

        The Zia Lalla is a Dutch-designed minesweeper from the early twentieth century that belonged to the Austro-Hungarian Empire until 1918.
