Prora is a bit confusing for the first-time visitor. Here is a little orientation:

The part that is really ruined is in the far north. The youth hostel is the northern start of the building. Shortly behind is the Museum Prora Zentrum (prora-zentrum.de). In the museum there is information about the history and also guided tours. This is followed by a section with unused parts of the building and partly used areas. A first block follows, which will be transformed into apartments. This ends the first building complex.

You are now in the middle, clearly recognizable by the one realized central wing with the blue, semi-circular building. Here is the documentation center Prora (proradok.de). There are also exhibitions and guided tours here. I personally found it very worth seeing (6 € entry).

From here it gets bizarre, now you come to the "New Prora". Dust gives way to asphalt, wheels give way to Porsche Cayennes and BMW X5s. This is crowned by the luxury hotel in the middle of the building. Sound critical? Yes, but nevertheless it is precisely because of these contrasts that I can recommend a visit.
