As you top out on a shoulder and find yourself level with the snow line, infact about to enter it now would be the time to layer up.

You will be moving slower than ever because the altitude but also the snow.

Although we didn't nor do many people you see, use spikes either those cheaper amazon spikes or true crampons having them and using them here would be mega useful!

The level of traffic up and down this section turns the snowy path into glacial hard slipways.

In Oct or after a hot spell you will be able to pick your way through using the occasional surprisingly grippy rocks protruding through but banking on this isn't ideal.

Poles and/or ice axe plus spikes will make this final bit of the climb both easier and more enjoyable!

Watch out for the single file descender also - many as I said without spikes - it can make for a risky traffic jam!
