Alois Lageder, a pioneer of biodynamic viticulture, operates his winery in Margreid according to strict biodynamic principles to work in harmony with nature. The winery sees itself as a closed microcosm, encompassing a diverse range of plants and animals and nurturing the complex ecosystem. Lageder aims to reflect the diversity of South Tyrol in both its grape varieties and its wines.

The winery's "masterpieces" strive for perfection in winemaking, with Lageder recognizing the unattainability of perfection and always striving to get as close to it as possible. In addition to his work as a winemaker, Lageder is an art lover and patron, which is reflected in the Löwengang estate, the winery's headquarters.
