    The Lanstroper egg is definitely worth a visit. Nearby is the Lanstroper lake. The mountain sinking water is eponymous for the surrounding nature reserve and is located on the Hienbergwald which is also worth a visit. Also nearby and worth a visit is the (former) landfill Grevel. The quartet is looking forward to an extended trip to the extreme northeast of Dortmund.

      The Lanstroper Egg is a water tower with a steel K framework and a steel container, since 1981 as a water tower without filling and out of order.
      This tower is visible from afar on a hill south of the A 2 motorway in the north-east of Dortmund, in the district of Lanstrop. The nickname is derived from this location and the shape of the steel container, although, strictly speaking, the tower is in the Grevel district and the container is not egg-shaped in the true sense of the word.

        The Dortmund steel construction company Aug. Klönne built the water tower between 1904 and 1905 on behalf of the gas and water works of the city of Unna. Due to the high water consumption of the surrounding coal mines Gneisenau, Prussia, Scharnhorst and Minister Achenbach, the water supply could not be ensured without such a high tank.
