The "Mugl" has an interesting history that is well known: During the Second World War a large anti-aircraft bunker was built here, which was not removed after the war due to its massive construction. Instead, it was covered in 1970 with the excavation material from the McGraw trench, which connects the end of the A995 to the middle ring. The Mugl, which is now a popular panoramic mountain, was created by the embankment. From the 26 meter high hill you have a nice view over the Perlacher Forest up to the main Alpine ridge. On the summit there is a pavilion in which six clear information boards inform visitors about the regional forest and forest history from the ice age to the present day.
