Until 1945, the building served as a family residence, later followed by the use as a military hospital, rest home and sanatorium for tuberculosis diseases. In GDR times, the district polyclinic was housed in the building. Until the closure in 1996, it housed a nursing home. In the mid-nineties, the district of Stendal - which until then owned the property - sold the building.

In 2012, the former castle was offered for sale again by a real estate company from Magdeburg. For 270,000 euros you would have the contract in an Internet auction portal.
