    Come to Siurana and discover a fairytale village that bears the memory of endless harassment and impossible conquests.

    Trapped in an impregnable place on the river, the knights of four counts needed to subdue it. His castle defended an insurmountable border that stretched from the Balaguer pass to Tamarit de Gaià. Conquered in 1153, after the fall of Lleida and Tortosa, it was the last stronghold of the reconquest in Catalonia.     Abdelazia, the Moorish queen, before being subdued by the Christians, preferred to fall on a cliff with her horse.     Today, we can see a charming village of cobbled houses and streets and the remains of the Saracen fortress, located at the entrance of the village. At its feet a swamp of clean and calm water offers the possibility of practicing all kinds of water sports.

    The most important building in Siurana is the Romanesque-style church with a portal with a figurative tympanum, framed by three semicircular archivolts resting on columns with capitals decorated with various motifs.

Siurana stands out as a reference and destination for climbers and hikers. Its legendary cliffs are known around the world for these practices.
