Legend has it that the stone near the top of Klonówka was dropped by the Devil himself. The rock was to be thrown onto a nearby village at night as punishment for building a church. Fortunately, the Devil did not manage to deliver the stone before morning and dropped it right there.

Legends are associated with this place - according to one of them, one night a huge stone was to be dropped by the Devil on the Holy Cross monastery. When the Devil was over Klonówka, a rooster crowed in neighboring Mąchocice, heralding the dawn. So Satan lost his power and dropped a heavy stone that stuck into the top of the mountains. Traces of devil's claws can still be seen on the rock.

Another legend says that one of the devils took a hot boulder from hell to warm his beloved witch with it. Flying with a gift over Klonówka, he heard the bells of the church standing on the top of the mountain ringing. As he fled, he released a stone that fell on the temple. Apparently, somewhere there is still an entrance to the stone-covered church.
