The hermitage of Sant'Alberto, located in Barbozza, is an ancient place of worship dating back to 1488. Characterized by the presence of a hermitage, it is undoubtedly the most important historical building in the area. Since ancient times it has been a destination for pilgrimages from all over the Piave district, especially on the feast day of the Saint, on 7 August. The population went there to invoke rain in times of drought. It was the subject of reconditioning works, first in 1658, then in 1706 by the hermit Frà Giuseppe Pilla. His tombstone is still visible at the entrance to the church, sculpted by himself with the words: “Do not try to know my name, the one who prepared the tomb for himself and for his successors. Contempt and world and name”. In 1864 the current choir was built and, after a year, the bell tower was added. 1866 marked the tradition of blessing the water with the relic of Sant'Alberto, while in 1932, further embellishment and consolidation works were carried out. Near the church is the "house of the hermits", prior to 1800. It functioned until the 1950s when the last hermit, the "Néta", passed away. It was restored in 1978 by the Parish of San Pietro di Barbozza, and is now used as a venue for meetings. Along the access road, just to the west, you come across the "Sant'Alberto Fontanèl". Tradition has it that children were born in this spring.
